Akshay Bhatnagar, a fighter, who has overcome all odds, a perfect case of how extraordinary will power makes a mark in the society and inspire the entire community as well. This 27 year old young man is working as Junior Assistant in University of Rajasthan, sounds very common, but what makes him uncommon is his unstoppable attitude towards life. He is a person with rare disability of Autism, a neurological pervasive development disorder in which an affected person faces challenges in language, communication and social relationship as well as struggles with sensory and emotional issues.

Irrespective of these challenges, Akshay Bhatnagar has proved that with determination, along with the supportive parenting, no disorder can become a hurdle in achieving success. His struggle started from beginning as no school was ready to give him admission as it was considered taboo to make such student study with so called ‘Normal’ kids. Finally, he got admission in one school and despite all the harsh limitation, he studied along with regular students and cleared 10th and 12th, which was considered a remarkable achievement by then.

Akshay did not stop by then, he resisted all health and physical challenges like Speech impairment, anxiety & depression etc. and completed his graduation from University of Rajathan. (In the year 2014), Akshay is the first and only autism graduate from Rajasthan. Later again he proved his mettle and secured a Govt. Job and presently working as Junior Assistant. Along with studies Akshay has marked his presence well in the field of sports too, he has won Gold Medals in 1500 Mtrs race and shot put and Bronze Medal in 400 Mtrs. race in Rajasthan State Para Athletic Championship-2017, 2018 & 2019.Akshay is an allrounder and despite all types of struggles and roadblocks, he created history and has become a source of inspiration. He has been recognised with many prestigious Award including National Award for Role Model by Hon’ble Vice President of India (2018), State Award Role Model Category (2017), Cavinkare) Ability Mastery Award (2019), Divyang Ratna Award, Jaipur Ratna Award and many more. Considering his ability and extraordinary achievements, he was also nominated as Brand Ambassador (Jaipur District) for General Election-2019. There are a number of articles on his struggle, achievements that have been published in various renowned newspapers like Rajasthan Patrika, Dainik Bhaskar, The Hindu, Times of India, Hindustan Times, etc. in addition to this many special audio video programmes were also aired on Akshay’s journey on All India Radio, Patrika TV and ETV to motivate other children with autism spectrum disorder and their parents affected children and their parents.
